Blue Bench Brunchette

Tour d’ Bubbles visited the Blue Bench Brunchette for Saturday brunch on Overland, just past Orchard. It is a makeover of the Sunshine Cafe that was there, with a fancier menu (same owner as the Huck House and Biscuit and Hogs). It is only open from 7am to 3pm.

It gets very full, so it’s best to go online and get on their wait list. There’s all sorts of tables and booths, and even a small bar with 6 places.

The mimosa flavors are very new and different, and a fun way to try a lot of them is to get a flight of five for $17.99.  We tried 10 different flavors!

There are all the usual breakfast choices, but with unusual combinations of ingredients. Omelets and benedicts with new and unexpected cheeses, meats or sauces. We tried a fig prosciutto and goat cheese scramble with egg whites (drizzled with honey and thyme!) and a super fresh benedict with bacon and avocado.

The side choices are very tempting, are Idaho home fries, sliced fruit medley or heirloom tomato salad. Also included are a pancake, french toast or biscuits and gravy. And of course, the biscuits are huge and the gravy is delicious.

It was a full house, so there was a bit of a wait for food, but it was worth it. The service was very responsive and the staff knows the unusual menu, and makes great recommendations.

The decor is upscale diner, with cement floors and chandeliers!
