Bob’s Restaurant and Lounge

Our next stop on the Tour de-Bubbles stop was Bob’s Restaurant and Lounge outside the Shilo Inn, right off the Franklin exit in Nampa, Idaho.

They open at 7 every day, and are a classic restaurant (diner style) with a separate bar/lounge with a liquor license. Met some friends there for breakfast at 9:30. I would recommend going 9:30 to 10, no later than 10 to make sure you get a table as it filled up quickly.

They have a full breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert menu, with pie flavor specials. The first things we ordered was, of course, mimosas!  They have $5 mimosas with a range of juice options. Bloody Mary’s looked great – we’ll have to try those next time.

There are lots of choices: scrambles, omelets, pancakes french toast etc. Everything from eggs and bacon to full steak and eggs with hash browns and toast. We ordered chicken fried steak, hash browns, dollar pancakes and 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. We also sampled the Eggs Benedict “Bob’s Way” with cheese sauce instead of hollandaise.

This is a traditional diner/restaurant with hearty serving sizes and great service, with plenty of coffee and water top ups.  Happy Hour specials are 3:30 to 6:30, that may be next on the list!
